Funeral for the Unknown Victim of Traffic Violence

This was a transcendent event with moving speeches from those who had suffered traffic accidents and sadly from family members of those who have died. It has been accepted for years that these people are just collateral damage for our addiction to motorised vehicles but there is the momentum for a cultural shift which challenges that view…these people are our children, family and friends. We can clear the streets to encourage children, women, the disabled and the elderly as well as men to cycle and walk. Or we can continue to pollute, maim and kill our citizens for the sake of an irrational addiction.
